tonsils and adenoids removed but breathing still sounds like a light snore?
My son has had a constant runny nose since birth and had various infections of tonsilitus and sore throats at age of 3 he had his tonsils and adenoids removed. I was told this would help his snoring and he would nolonger feel congested although since this operation there has been no difference his day time breathing sounds like a light snore and at night time hes as loud as before the operation. Constant trips to doctors and im told he has rhinitis and a steriod spray should help although no difference and have been told he has allergies although he gets no relief from antihistamines. What could be the problem causing this? would further investigation from ENT reveal something other than an allergy. His nasal passages are very slim and i remember when he was born his nose was bent slightly though has straightend out since.
he had surgery 29/2/09
How long ago was the surgery? It’s normal for about a month after the operation.

has anyone ever had the throat operation to correct snoring problems?
There are several kinds of throat surgery. The simplest and safest is called Somnoplasty, or radiofrequency ablsation. It scars the tissues and makes them tighter. I had that and it was pretty easy – no pain to speak of.
There are two other kinds – one is called laser uvulopalatoplasty – they use a laser to burn off excess tissue. It is supposed to hurt for a while.
The final kind is the old-fashioned scalpel based uvulopalatoplasty, which has a reputation for being pretty painful and also sometimes redirecting food into your soft palate and out your nose – no kidding.
I would stick with Somnoplasty and use the CPAP machine or get an oral appliance.
how can snoring problems be fixed with out surgery?
There’s a good nasal spray your doctor can prescribe made for snoring. Might be worth a try. Otherwise, one of the most common causes of snoring is being overweight, even by just a few pounds.
I could not sleep last night I had my husband snoring up a storm next to me and Max in the floor snoring like there’s no tomorrow. I know i can fix my hubby by putting a pillow over his face… but how do I help Max to not snore so much?
Probably not Fallon.. with Penny’s squished face I know that snoring is horrible
If I knew I would not suffer lack of sleep due to a hubby, 4 Newfs, 1 Am.Bully, and a persian. ALL snore and always have. To add a special touch, the Am.Bully and the Persian have BAD GAS while they sleep also. No comment on the hubby.
I would like some feedback from people who have had or are close to others who have had surgeries for snoring treatment.
Please tell me which surgery was done and whether it was effective, short term and long term. Please add anything else related to the surgery that you wish to provide.
No “See a doctor.” or “Try natural medicine first.” comments. I am only researching experiences to surgeries to snoring. Thanks!
I personally never had such surgery, but I have come accross
a blog post telling about snoring surgery experience.
He had throat surgery. He even posted pictures there.
When to Choose a Snoring Device Instead of Snoring Surgery
Sleep apnea – doctor recommends having part of the soft palate removed – has any one had this done? Results?
My husband went to the Ear Nose and Throat doctor to discuss options to improve his quality of sleep and lessen his snoring. The doctor wants to perform a tonsillectomy, re-set his deviated septum, and surgically trim his soft palate. We’ve got a second opinion scheduled for next week, but my husband is understandably nervous. Has any one else had this procedure performed? Were the results what you had hoped for? Was recovery difficult?
My brother had it done and it did nothing but screwup his mouth, he still snorzes, Don’t waste your money, please contact me.
I am a 30yr old woman and am sufferring from clicking acheing shoulders and apparently I’m snoring a lot too. The primary problem is the shoulders, and it’s been suggested that it may be the size of my breasts.
The pain started approximately 2yrs ago after meeting my partner and gaining a little weight.
I’ve always had big boobs but I was initially pain free, size 34E
5ft 6″ tall and 133lbs (9st 7lbs). When I first started noticing the pains and clicking I was a 36G & 160lbs (11st 6lbs) and now 2yrs later I am a size 40F and 182lbs (13st)
I’ve had it suggested to me that breast reduction surgery is an option, but a friend said I’d have to be really thin and it could be expensive.
Any other ideas?
try with pilates gym
it is very good and was designed for things like your shoulder pain and others worse
