Is it normal for a baby to snore?
my son is 3months old [4months the 12th of nov.] & for the past week or so he has been snoring?! is this normal, should i be worried? his next dr. appt. isnt until the 27th of this month. i’ve thought about calling his ped. [but my mom, a nurse - said it shouldnt be anything to be alarmed over]. i thought i just get some opinions before i call the dr.
My boy was born by c-section and since he didn’t get the mucus squished out of his chest like a vaginal birth would have done he snored quite loudly for the first few weeks. I remember at the camp out when he was 5 weeks old a friend was holding him sitting by the fire and he was sleeping. I was at my campsite doing up bottles (that’s fun to do when camping – NOT) and could see the campfire but was a distance away and someone exclaimed really loudly – OMG HE’S SNORING!!! It was so funny because I could hear him snoring as well and I was a good 200 feet away with like 100 other people camping around us. I felt like saying No S**t Sherlock, so that’s what that noise is that keeps me awake all night! Needless to say, baby got moved to his own room and crib shortly after that camp out because I couldn’t sleep through his snoring.
Now though, it has quieted down quite a bit although when he is really tired he does snore. Not as loudly but it’s a definite snore. Even though the snoring has decreased his “sleep talking” has increased. He whines, giggles, laughs, whimpers, lightly cries, snorts, coos, babbles, etc… all while sound asleep. I think that is worse than the snoring, at least the snoring was rhythmic. Now I never know what noise is going to come out him next.
Now back to your question – snoring is normal, it’s very common. Is baby tired and cranky in the day? If so then the snoring might be interrupting him getting a good nights sleep or causing a reduction in oxygen consumption while sleeping. Those require medical attention. Does he hold his breath at all (even for a couple seconds) after intaking a breath? That means he should be tested for sleep apnea. Has he had a cold or congestion lately? That can cause snoring to be more pronounced. What is the humidity in his room? You may need to adjust that to make breathing easier on him to help reduce the snoring. Is he on any medications that make him drowsy? Being overtired can increase the likelihood of snoring.
You are probably fine waiting for your regular appointment unless he is obviously not sleeping well or not breathing for a moment or two in between snores.

When I pat my dog it makes a grunting/snoring sound repeatedly. Whats it doing?
My dog comes up to me wanting to be patted like any other dog but when I pat it it makes this kind of grunting or snoring sound. It also leans up againt me and does this. It stops as soon as I walk away. Its just kind of mysterious why it does this.
it starts relaxing and gets of his feet and rests his head on his shoulders which will close his throat a little and make a snoring sound because air is pushing through.

How can I control snoring for real?
I’ve tried sleeping differently, nasal sprays, nasal strips, chin straps (which helped for a while) and I still can’t seem to stop. My doctor says I don’t need corrective surgery and told me to keep trying different things. I’m not overweight and I don’t drink in excess. Has anyone successfully stopped snoring on their own?
Here’s a unique approach: Aromatherapy. I was reading online and happened to come across this method. I’ve tried many other ways too, but I haven’t tried this one.

Is there any way to stop or reduce snoring?
My better half is starting to complain about my snoring. It’s to the point where neither of us are sleeping well because I am getting poked, slapped, beaten and pushed on all night. Is there any easy way to reduce or stop whatever causes snoring?? I would like to get a good nights sleep and hopefully in the same bed!!!
I would talk to your doctor about the snoring because you need to be evaluated at a sleep disorder clinic…snoring can cause so many problems with your health and daily life that you may not have even noticed. For YOUR sake as well as your wifes do this please. Good luck and don’t take this lightly. You can try some home remedies like those nasal strips, the stop snore throat spray, lose weight, sleep on your side, etc….but you still need to know if your blood oxygen level is dropping and also how much you may be sleep deprived because of this snoring.

how prevent loud snoring?
Anyone know how to stop or lessen a bad snoring habit? I dont want to hear answers like a tennis ball on your back etc: Or snoring pillows unless you know of a proven good one?
nose strips dont work either and i am not getting an operation no one is going to cut me up
position sleep dont need advice either already know
I know you said you already know but just in case there’s some tips you didn’t know of.
Here are some of those non-invasive tips to stop the snoring:
• sleep on your side – there’s a higher chance of snoring if you lie on your back, and sleeping on your stomach will kill your neck.
• keep a regular sleep schedule – and make sure you get enough sleep, many people snore only when they are overly tired
• elevate your head when sleeping – you can increase the angle of your bed by raising the head of the bed or use pillows to raise your upper body, don’t just raise your head that’ll put more pressure on your air way and have the opposite effect.
• avoid alcohol and tranquillizers – they basically cause the muscles of your jaw and throat to relax, increasing your changes of snoring.
• Treat your allergies – if your nose is stuffy it may force you to breathe through your mouth when sleeping. If your nose is stuffed I recommend using a neti pot, the are incredibly effective, natural and pretty cheap to.
• buy a mouth guard – mouth guards will keep your jaw muscles from relaxing too much, and prevent snoring. It may not be too attractive to your significant other but it’ll help you both get some sleep! ![]()
• Lose weight – when you’re heavier the extra weight puts pressure on your airway, causing snoring.
• if you smoke try to stop – smoking damages your respiratory system, which doesn’t help in the snoring department
Excessive snoring may also mean you have a more serious problem like sleep apnea.
If you wake up with a headache, are extremely tired during the day, don’t feel refreshed when you wake up, have trouble concentrating or a very low attention span, or wake up during the night choking and gasping for breath you should probably see a doctor.
Mild snoring that isn’t related to sleep apnea responds well to home remedies. Finding a cure for your snoring problem can result in an improved quality of life for you and your loved ones.
An effective and pretty simple solution is doing throat exercises, here’s a website with interesting information on the snoring exercises: http://www.thestopsnoringexerciseprogram.com/?hop=4safetynow

Snoring cures ? I am looking for the best cures for snoring?
Does anyone know of any good snoring cures? My dad is like a bear and i want to make him a present ..asap.So if you have any ideas how to get rid of snoring…please share
Research has shown that a whopping one in four people suffer from snoring. If that weren’t amazing enough, most of those afflicted believe there is nothing to be done for their condition. They don’t realize that a good night’s sleep is within their grasp. Some people are giving a new product called Snorezip a try, and are having great results.
Snorezip was developed to increase oxygen flow and reduce mucus. When oxygen flow is increased and mucus reduced, it has been proven that the incidence of snoring will also be greatly reduced, if not eliminated. This product may be just the thing to get those afflicted with snoring on the road to a restful sleep.
Snoring is not just an annoying habit, but can seriously threaten your health. Doctors claim that patients who snore are more likely to be fatigued, and are more susceptible to life threatening conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Snoring also increases the incidence of high blood pressure and metabolic syndrome. Snorezip, with its proven record of reducing incidence of snoring could help reduce this risk.
SnoreZip is very affordable and easy to use. Most snoring remedies involve the use of uncomfortable masks that must be worn at night. The sheer discomfort of these masks is enough to make most sufferers abandon such a program long before there is any benefit. Since SnoreZip is administered as an oral spray, there’s no excuse not to give it a try. Just spray SnoreZip into your mouth before you go to bed, and you could be minutes away from a good night’s sleep!
