I’ve been snoring since I was younger and I’m not fat and I don’t know why I do. I’ve tried to stop by propping up my pillows and breathing through only either my mouth or my nose. But nothing works. Can someone please help me stop this habit? I’ve always ended up saying something like I’m sick but I can’t keep on using that excuse.
I do have allergies.
It makes sense to try some simple non-invasive treatments first to see if they will reduce or prevent your snoring.

The tennis ball is uncomfortable if you lie on your back, and you will respond by turning on your side. Soon you will develop side-sleeping as a habit and not need the tennis ball.
In all sleep positions: your snoring is more severe and may require a more comprehensive treatment
I could not sleep last night I had my husband snoring up a storm next to me and Max in the floor snoring like there’s no tomorrow. I know i can fix my hubby by putting a pillow over his face… but how do I help Max to not snore so much?

If I knew I would not suffer lack of sleep due to a hubby, 4 Newfs, 1 Am.Bully, and a persian. ALL snore and always have. To add a special touch, the Am.Bully and the Persian have BAD GAS while they sleep also. No comment on the hubby.
Will wearing a neck brace at night help me to stop snoring?
I read that the neck brace will help keep the neck extended and will prevent snoring. I snore when lying on my back and also when I sleep on my side so those pillows that make you flip over to your side won’t help. Last night, I woke myself up the noise was so loud and I had sharp pains in my chest. My heart was pounding really fast and I was completely out of breath. I am scared this will keep happening and start affecting my health.
You need to have a sleep study performed! More than likely you are not only snoring, but based on your symptoms you may be having apneas (stop breathing) as well. If you are waking up gasping then it is not just snoring and there isn’t anything on the market that is going to help with that. The only proven effective treatment for sleep apnea and snoring is Cpap. If you leave this condition untreated you can look forward to heart failure, high blood pressure, low oxygen levels, stroke and so on. This is not to be left untreated. Go and see a board certified sleep physician and get this checked out before you have worse health issues later. I have answered many of this type of question if you want to look through my answers. my 2 month old snores during sleep. it sounds like a congested raspy snore. almost like she has lots of mucus in her chest. i ased her doctor and she said she was fine. but i looked up snoring on line and found that snoring is the #1 symptom for sleep apnea which could be deadly. do any of you have babies that snore and this is perfectly fine? or are familiar with sleep apnea and have any advice?
My son has had this very low, quiet, raspy snore since he was born – he is now 7 and has had no health problems connected to snoring. The Pediatrician said that it is perfectly normal and to just pay attention that there are no changes i.e. struggling to breathe, congestion, or changes in the sound or increase in volume. If you are still uneasy, get a 2nd medical opinion (NOT on yahoo Q&A). Do you have a baby monitor?

why does my dog snore when sleeping and when she wants something?
Without more information, the snoring while sleeping could be because of the breed, or because she has had a weight gain.
My cat recently began snoring, and the vet says it is because she has gained weight. She hasn’t gained much, but like people, animals who gain weight can suffer from a type of sleep apnea.
If she is a bulldog breed, it could be that. Some breeds are more predisposed to snoring.
You may want to take her to your veterinarian to have her checked out, and be sure she is getting enough oxygen.
As to the “snoring” when she wants something, I have no idea unless it is more of a snorting, and that too sounds like it could be a possible breed traight.
