I am totally freaking my daughter out. She states that while I sleep,I exhale making a “puh-puh” sound, she states this is continuous. what would cause this?
thanx guys, its not a loud sound like snoring. she said it sounds exactly like a puh sound. I have alot of medical issues but none that would alter my breathing. I will ask my Dr. to make sure, but wanted some input from others. It scares her, but I don’t know i’m doing it.
The puh-puh is coming from my mouth when i am breathing out. she told me she doesnt hear anything when i am inhaling
Sounds to me like it’s just that your lips are nearly closed when you sleep, and the pressure of the air when you exhale makes them, well, flap a little.
Snoring -causes, Symptoms, Treatment – Snop Snoring Now
I’m not sure what to do. The other night, my boyfriend woke me up and told me I was snoring and that it was keeping him awake. Normally he wouldn’t mind, but he has to get up at four in the morning to go to work. He says he still wants to sleep beside me, but I can’t bring myself to go to bed with him when I know if I snore (which is embarrassing, since I’m a woman) I’ll keep him from getting his much-needed sleep. He works in a warehouse lifting boxes all day and needs a certain amount of sleep to keep up his strength. My question is, what can I do to prevent myself from snoring? Is there a homeopathic remedy, or a certain product I could try? I was thinking about those Breathe Right strips, but am not sure if they work. Please help!!!
Depends entirely on the cause for your snoring. It can be a problem if you are overweight that will dissappear if you lose weight, it could be loose skin in the roof of your mouth that can be fixed with a simple operation. I have exactly the same problem – my wife snores and I am a light sleeper – while I would love to sleep beside her I just can not. So we sleep seperately. Go to your doctor and determine the cause of the snoring if you can and then a cure could be worked out. And dont worry – MANY women snore they just dont admit to it …
I’ve been reading all sorts of answers here on Yahoo and I can’t really find a solution to my problem. I have a snoring problem and my roomate doesn’t stop letting me know about it. Frankly, it’s getting annoying and offensive. I, however, understand that I keep him up at times and am not allowing him to get enough sleep some nights. Now, I’ve tried a bunch of things such as sprays, nasal strips, sleeping in all sorts of positions… all to no avail. What’s weird is that I also do not snore all night, I do in intervals. Anyone have any other suggestions? I don’t think I have sleep apnea because I don’t wake up much, if at all, at night in the middle of sleeping. Nevertheless, where could I go to get tested to see if I have the condition? Also, I read something about adenoid removal. Is there any place where I can get more information about it’s side effects, long-term effects, and how much a surgery like that would cost, its process, and how long it lasts? Any suggestions?
You should check out for sleep apnea. But before that trying to read up as much as you can and try some natural remedies.
I had a bad problem too and I found this book useful “ISnore No More”
Sleep Problems : What Does Your Sleeping Position Say About You?
My doctor wants me to have a surgery done that is equivalent to a roto rooter. He is recommending it due to multiple sinus infections, which have caused me to build up an immunity to most antibiotics, and chronic sinus headaches. I have a coworker who had it done and highly recommends it, but I would like to hear feedback from others who have had it done. Also, would it help with my snoring at all? I can’t sleep in the same room as my boyfriend as I keep him up all night “snoring like a warthog”.
I would take 1/2 a zyrtec each night and then follow this
.I use it to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me — my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need
distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don’t get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take antibiotics anymore.
best wishes
In short – you have 3 options:
Loosing weight
Surgery
Treating sleep apnea with CPAP (BiPAP) machine.
I think you have to start with CPAP, try loosing some weight and see how it is going.
