Why Do We Snore?
There can be many causes to why one snores when they sleep; Generally, anything that causes the air passageways to narrow will likely be able to cause snoring.
* Drugs, alcohol, or anything that relaxes muscles can cause elongation of throat muscles, forcing the tongue backwards into the mouth and constricting vital air passageways. * Colds, sinuses, or any regular stuffy nose can also lead to snoring at night. Once the passageways are clogged, air struggles going through the nasal passage, forcing the throat to pull air in through the mouth with extra force. * Variations in individual physiology can be a major factor in air passageway issues. If one is overweight, there will more likely be a considerable amount of fatty tissue in the throat, meaning yet again a narrower air passageway. Or, if one has a long uvula and/or soft palate, the passageway is yet again threatened and possibly narrowed. A huge multitude of other factors could also contribute to snoring, including large adenoids and large tonsils, a long tongue, a small lower jaw or a deviated nasal septum. * Unhealthy habits, such as smoking, can further increase the likelihood of closed air passageways due to the swelling that may result from irritation. * Finally, when it comes to alignment (the largest of factors of snoring), sleeping on one’s back makes one much more likely to snore at night as the tongue and jaw are forced down to the back of the mouth by gravity.
Snoring Treatment
Most often, snoring can finally be treated and fully eliminated by means of correcting bad sleeping posture. Snoring has many causes like drinking alcohol, sleeping posture, smoking, and overeating. It can alter your sleep patterns and cause changes in alertness during the day and mood swings. For those looking to stop snoring, you need to stop snoring device and switch to the natural remedies. The top 3 tips to stop snoring are as under.
1. Exercise and lose weight- Maintaining an ideal weight makes you less susceptible to risks involved in snoring. You should stop snoring devices and eat healthier, nourishing food or take up some form of exercise to shed excess weight. Overweight people have heavier body mass, thus have bulkier necks that contain excess muscle, often causing obstruction during breathing.
2. Change your sleep posture- Snorers should sleep on the side to prevent the relaxed muscles to collapse, and those who can tolerate sleeping on their stomachs, are much less susceptible to the likelihood of snoring, as this posture is ideal for reducing the pressure on the airways. Elevate your bed to 30 degrees, as this height lessens the collapse of the throat tissue.
3. Improve your lifestyle- Frequent drinkers, smokers, and those taking recreational drugs that act, as sedatives are more vulnerable to snoring. Stop smoking as the harmful chemicals found in cigars, cigarettes and tobacco, induce production of mucus that can add up to the obstructions.
These chemicals irritate the lining of the nasal cavity and throat, cause swelling, congestion and catarrh that increases with each cigarette. Alcohol can bring about relaxation on the muscles that further aggravate the condition, as when you drink, it relaxes the throat and tongue muscles, resulting in partially blocked air movement as you breathe, which leads to snoring. Avoid taking sedatives or sleeping pills as they depress the central nervous system and relax the throat muscles.
Besides dreaming and frequent movements during the night, snoring is one of the activities created by the human body even when in deep sleep, a dysfunction in the body caused by certain mechanisms that seem to collide when the body is at its most relaxed state. Snorers should stop snoring devices and try out the above stated natural ways to stop snoring.

Once a person falls asleep, the muscles in the mouth relax, which cause the tongue to slide backwards, and the opening of the throat narrows, which becomes blocked by soft tissue. As air is taken in the passageway of the throat, the tongue and soft tissue vibrate causing the snoring sound that often interrupts the sleep of most snorers. Stop snoring device is used to stop the snorer from snoring and there are many such stop snoring devices in the market.
The Snore Balls- are devices that the snorer put on their backs while sleeping, or put it in a pouch on the back of their pajamas. When snorers move to sleep on their backs, they tend to open their mouths while sleeping and emit loud snoring, that is the time the snore ball gives them a wakeup call of discomfort. A few people even make their own snore balls out of baseballs, tennis balls and golf balls that can fit into a pajama pocket.
The ‘Sandler’ Pillow- named after its inventor, it is a popular non-surgical stop snoring device, used to alleviate snoring. The design of the pillow compels the sleeper to sleep on the side, which generally closes the mouth and prevents mild snoring.
Nasal Strips- are used to widen the nasal valve, thus open up the airway to the throat and lungs. They are very popular anti snoring remedies and are made of plastic, adhere to the nose and are worn all through the night. The nasal strips are applied topically, thus have no internal impact, and besides being available without a prescription they are cost effective when purchased in bulk.
Throat sprays- are similar to saline sprays, though instead of salt water, they deliver natural lubricating oils to the back of the throat, which reduces the amount of vibrations that occur in the trachea during sleep, and thus lessen the snoring. They should not be used frequently, as they cause throat irritation, leading to more snoring!
You can choose the best stop snoring device from the range of the very simple to the somewhat complex ones. Majority of the devices are available in drug stores, through the internet or postal mail.

Take some time to provide help for your snoring problem. May be many of you have real problem with this and want Help for Snoring. It is something that is probably finest described as a plague on your life. The saddest part of the whole thing is that it drags on for decades to get Help for Snoring. If you’ve ever had a parent that snored, you would have noticed that it went on during your entire childhood and probably also into your adulthood. The real issue here is that no one really understands how to provide Help for Snoring. You might need conventional wisdom and special help for snoring.
Many people don’t understand the actual mechanics of this problem. I think everyone recognizes that the sounds are produced by something in your throat, but that isn’t actually the cause to help for Snoring. Pressure on the throat actually causes more vibration and more sounds, but what is actually causing the pressure you needed to know this first. Until recently this was unknown, but they narrowed it down to your jaw. When you go to sleep the muscles holding your jaw let go it. This forces your throat muscles to carry your weight and it constricts the throat.
The Help for Snoring you need is chin strap. This is a device that holds up the jaw and keeps it from putting pressure on the throat to help for Snoring. It is a relatively easy device to put on and it works the first night when you use it. It is also significant to understand that it is a relatively comfortable to wear.
I wanted to provide you with the assist for snoring that you can start using. I know it seems like an almost impossible problem to solve, but it isn’t the way you think. The reason that so many people become hopeless when it comes to help for snoring is due to the fact that they don’t know better. In fact, no one is really educated on the subject nor is there conventional wisdom to look at the problem. For example, even if you weren’t taught about weight loss you would have a general idea of what needs to be done to succeed with the problem.
If you want to take the lead on this kind of problem than you need to understand exactly what is happening inside your throat. Basically you have tissue and it is vibrating when you breathe, but that really isn’t the issue. The tissue in your throat is there when you’re awake; you do not snore while you’re awake. Something specific changes when you go to sleep, which is actually the position of your jaw. Your muscles go to sleep and the jaw falls on the throat, which creates pressure on the entire problem.
The help for snoring that you need is a jaw supporter to get rid of this. It will help hold up the jaw completely since it is the root cause of the problem. Since it works on the mechanical cause of snoring it will work the very first night when you put it on.
