Why did snoring evolve or why was it created? What purpose does it serve?

I’d never considered that… I bet it could have been used to scare off predators while you’re sleeping and defenseless. Some people do sound like large animals when they snore.

On the flip side if you’re snoring predators could easily find you and you won’t hear them coming over your own snoring. Maybe we learned how to defend our sleeping selves before predators figured out how to tell a bear from a sleeping human. We do seem to sleep more deeply than many animals; maybe we can do this because of snoring?

Or could be it’s an unfortunate side-effect of walking upright that we have to find creative ways to deal with, like back pain and dying in childbirth. I guess the benefits just outweighed the downsides, evolutionarily speaking.

my dog is 5 years old she is sooo fat!!! she is overweight i have three more dogs comparing my other three dogs there are average anyways comparing her and my other three dogs she is the fattest of all!!! she is heavy she had puppies two times then we operated her so she wont have any babies no more she also snores loud! my other dogs dont its like she is just like a human and she covers herself with a blanket all by herself she is a smart smart dog? anyways is it normal to have a dog soo overweight

It is normal to have a fat dog, just like it is normal for humans to be fat. You should go to your dogs vet and put him on a diet, because it is possible it is not obesity but something else. I don’t know anything about what issues it could be but, it’s more common to have a fat dog.

When you have an operation, and they put you to sleep, do you snore?

I am having an operation soon to have a gastic band fitted but I feel embarrassed about being put to sleep as I snore like a donkey, please put my mind at rest.
Also the doctor said its a dangerous operation so I may not live much longer.
I am due to get married soon to Ethel too, and you think you have problems eh?

my friend is just about to have a gastric band too but he had to loose six stone first i hope it all goes well for you don’t worry about the snoring you wont

WORST SNORING EVER My mates wife asleep

Is it fair for her to treat me this way just because I kicked her?

My wife snores and it really, really annoys me because I’m a light sleeper and sometimes it’s just more than I can stand. Normally I just kick her in the calves or maybe push her in the back. Well a few weeks ago I went to kick her in the calves and actually kneed her in the lower back. Granted it was very hard but should she really be making such a big deal out of this? Now she won’t sleep in the bed at all. I told her it was an accident, that I meant to just kick her in the calve really hard and wake her up so she’d stop snoring.
I’ve told her to get an operation to get rid of the snoring and everything would be fine but she refused. She also has epilepsy and from time to time has had seizures at night so I put up with a lot.

Maybe you will get a better response from your wife if you actually discussed with her how her snoring is keeping you awake, and that you want to work with her to find a way to stop the snoring, rather than kicking her.I mean, if the situation was reversed how would you feel, if you wife continuous kicked you when you snored? My baby started making a strange snoring sound, is coughing up hard brown mucus and it’s head is dented!?

Hi… My baby boy (2 weeks old) is making a really frightening snoring noise when it sleeps… It coughs up brown mucus which smells really awful, a bit like a festering wound. The same smell comes from it’s nose, and it’s little eyes are bloodshot… And most worrying of all, there is this strange dent in the top of its head, like his skull has gone soft (it isn’t broken, otherwise i’d feel bonde). I’m really worried for my baby and I don’t know what to do!

Does anybody know a reliable cure for snoring?

Firstly, I am curious if anybody has any first hand experience with Snore Relief by Breathe Right, as that is my current direction, having just tried the Breathe Right strips with little success.

Well I have tried everything but the Snore Relief from breathe Right but I did try the strips and there was no success with them. Here is what I found works around 80 % of the time for my husband:

Snorestop Extinguisher (Maximum Strength) I bought it at our local drugstore but it will set you back a pretty penny. I think I paid around 20.00 for a .4 ouch spray bottle. Takes 2 sprays before going to bed. It does work better than anything we’ve ever tried. I lost the box it came in but I believe it is around 200 sprays you get out of that bottle and it makes sense as it’s lasted my husband around 3 months. But then I would pay any price to not listen to him snore lol

Is there anyway to prevent a dog from snoring…?

My dog snores vary loudly. Is there any way to reduce or stop her snoring? I have tried a bed she can curl up in, but she just sprawls out anyway…

Ha ha. I was just sitting here listening to my dog snore and thought about asking the same question! Hopefully someone has a good answer…
