Have you ever used tape on your husband’s mouth to stop snoring? Does it work?
My friend suggested it as she read about it somewhere. The thing is do I only have to put it on him at night or can I leave it on in the day when I drag him around shoe stores!! lol
Please can any one recommend a snoring remedy for me?? I’m not bothered about it but I think it’s going to be a race to see who kills me first….my boyfriend or my housemates!! I’ve tried nose strips, giving up smoking, losing weight, snoreease throat spray and sleeping on my side but always seem to end up flat on my back and waking the whole house up!!
PS anyone know if certain medications can cause snoring? I’ve been on 40mg of citalopram for a year or so now…about the same length of time I’ve been snoring,
well recently i went to the doctor becauseof my snoring. and learned i have sleep apnea. i think that anybody that snores should go. they run all these tests, and they give you this little machine to sleep with at night. they are quiet and prevents your from snoring. it’s amazing because it helps you have SOOO much more energy in ther morning and you just feel like a different person. and sometimes when i sleep without it my friends say rarely snore.
and btw if you don’t know what sleep apnea is it’s when you stop breathing in your sleep for about a 40(sc)-60(sc) or so for about every 30. min. if u want you could do more research. but that may not be your case, just a suggestion.
Has anyone used the “My Sleep Solution” Anti-snoring device?
It goes around your head and holds your mouth shut. Does it really work, is it worth 70 dollars?
That does not sound right somehow. That sounds like it could be dangerous in fact. What if the nose was blocked?!!! No I don’t think it is worth investing in as I think it sounds dangerous potentially.
Try a pillow behind the back to stop you rolling onto your back in sleep. Most snoring occurs when you are on your back. Try two pillows instead of one to keep the head raised. Try Olbas oil on the edge of the pillows to keep airways open. Lose weight if overweight by taking up more exercise and restricting fatty/sugary snacks and stop smoking if you smoke. Being overweight and smoking are linked to snoring.
As a last resort see a dentist about a mouth/snore guard as that is better to invest in as it is supposed to work.
Will wearing a neck brace at night help me to stop snoring?
I read that the neck brace will help keep the neck extended and will prevent snoring. I snore when lying on my back and also when I sleep on my side so those pillows that make you flip over to your side won’t help. Last night, I woke myself up the noise was so loud and I had sharp pains in my chest. My heart was pounding really fast and I was completely out of breath. I am scared this will keep happening and start affecting my health.
You need to have a sleep study performed! More than likely you are not only snoring, but based on your symptoms you may be having apneas (stop breathing) as well. If you are waking up gasping then it is not just snoring and there isn’t anything on the market that is going to help with that. The only proven effective treatment for sleep apnea and snoring is Cpap. If you leave this condition untreated you can look forward to heart failure, high blood pressure, low oxygen levels, stroke and so on. This is not to be left untreated. Go and see a board certified sleep physician and get this checked out before you have worse health issues later. I have answered many of this type of question if you want to look through my answers. Breathe right nasal strips VS. Puresleep mouthpiece, Which ones more effective?
Anyone ever try breathe right nasal strips and/ or Puresleep mouthpiece to stop snoring?Which one is better?
I hope to be able to find out soon, we just ordered the Pure sleepp mouthpiece for my boyfriend and we are excited to give it a try. I’m a very light sleeper and it is rare that I can get any sleep staying in bed with him. I usually resort to the couch where the deep throaty snoring noises can at least be muffled. I’ll keep you posted with our results, I really hope this works!
