My husband’s snoring is awful… so noisy it wakes me up each and every night. You can hear in all around the house. I am 24 weeks pregnant and seem to disappear off to the spare room each night!
It may sound funny but it really isn’t. I want to sleep with my husband in the same bed and cant at the moment and worry i will never be able to especially when the baby comes..
Does anyone have any experience about snoring cures. We asked the doctor but they just gave him a spray which doesn’t work. He does smoke which drives me mad (not in the house I hasten to add), and I am nagging him to stop, and I know this only makes it worse. Has anyone tried the mouth guards (not sure what you would call them). They cost quite a bit and I’m reluctant to fork out for them if they done work….
Please help….. sleep needed!
Hi Awww i feel sorry for you, i know what this is like before my husband and i separated he snored all night every night very loud and i was so tired because of it. I do not know if you are in UK, but Ormskirk Hospital have been doing an injection it was on the North West news and it stops snoring, and the best thing is it only costs around £4.00 and lasts for over 12 months ask your doctor if your husband can have it. There are the breathe right strips that open the nose, but apparently it’s something in the back of the throat that causes it. I reaaly hope that you can get some sleep soon.
What can I do for sleep deprivation other than melatonin, rx drugs, and bedtime techniques to keep me asleep?
I’ve been working 60 something hours for the past few months. Everytime I get off of work, I cannot sleep a good 7 to 9 hours. I would wake up every hour or two (My boyfriend snores), or just naturally wake up after 4 hours of sleep. I have just about tried every technique available: milk, hot bath, light walk, stretch, read a book, OTC sleep medication (I was eventually taking 8 at a time, and I was told to stop). I’ve spoke to my doctor about sleep deprivation, but he seems to think I am too young to be prescribed Ambien (his excuse was that it can be addictive). I feel like I’m losing hope going to sleep…Help!
Losing hope is typical of an over-stressed system. And that’s where you’re going with the long hours of work & short hours of sleep. So don’t let go, okay?
Along with all of the “pre-sleep” things that have been offered to you, I ask; Do you plan your sleep? I know, it sounds really strange. But it was a life saver for me.
While you’re having that nice cup of tea, or glass of warm milk, think about your day. There’s a lot going on in there, right? Well, how much of it can you fix in the next 7 hours? You can’t fix many of them, can you? So give yourself permission to sleep. Then imagine what it will feel like to wake up 8 hours later. A nice feeling, isn’t it?
Now, you have “cleared the slate” and planted an idea in your mind that it will probably be happy to make true. The scientific word for what happens when your mind’s picture of your world doesn’t match your visual world is ’scitoma’. And the best thing about creating a scitoma is that your mind will work toward the prefered version.
So plan on waking up at whatever time your alarm clock is set for…thus, planning your sleep. Oh – and see if bf will try those snore-strips. Even just for a week.
I wanted to talk to you about a cure for snoring problems. If you’re the one snoring than you probably don’t think it is that much of a problem, but speak to the people that have to live with it and you might change your mind. Just because you sleep through your problem doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. It is extremely annoying to your spouse and people that live in surrounding rooms, which the noise penetrates. Snoring is a sign of being unhealthy, so I think it is important for you to start taking this seriously because it is a sign. I’m going to show you the cure for snoring problems.
There are a few solutions available for you. If you think about a person snoring, what characteristics do you see? What I see is someone sleeping on their back with their mouth wide open. What happens is that the air comes in the mouth and it vibrates against the loose tissue in the back of your throat. It becomes exceedingly difficult to snore if you sleep on your side while breathing in your nose. Gravity pulls the loose tissue out of the airway and it should eliminate it. The problem is that you’re asleep and you really can’t force yourself to be on your side all night, while breathing in your nose.
The cure for snoring problems is a wrap for your head. The idea sounds pretty bad, but it’s actually comfortable. There is a specific wrap designed to go around your head to hold your mouth closed. It’s comfortable. The idea is to force your mouth closed, so that you’ll breath in your nose. After you do this for a while, you’ll get used to the idea of breathing in your nose and won’t have to use the wrap any more and the problem is solved.
The questions remain in us however, like how was it happened to be? Is there something to do with health? Is there something to do with breathing? Has it something to do with blood? Or has it something to do with emotions right before sleeping?
Maybe it has to do with the last food intake after dinner before hitting the bed. However, it is definitely not a matter of gender.
What is snoring?
It can be true but it does not mean it is totally true. Snoring can be normal to most men and women alike. Just like when you are so tired and exhausted, just wanting to fall on the bed due to a heavy feeling for the days activities. Types of Snoring
Snoring when sleeping in any positions shows the problem is severe; this type of snoring is a bit more serious than those mentioned above. Any one of all genders are capable of snoring. It could be that the back of the tongue is blocking some parts of the passage ways and causes the sound that produces the snoring. It leaves your mouth open and tends the throat tissues to vibrate as you inhale and exhale through your mouth.
Most common known causes of snoring
The male gender hormones tend to be more active and restless than the female’s estrogens. A person who is inclined to sleep flat on his back makes the throat very relaxed and tends the back of the tongue to block the air pathways and creates the snoring sound. A person who smokes takes in the smoke into his lungs passing through the air pathways. When a person gets an asthma attacks, his air passageways becomes constricted every time he inhales. Non smokers are not saved from this however. A person who is under a medication, or is taking a regular prescribed medicine can affect the relaxation of the muscles too much than it needs.

TIPS on how to maintain weight and eating habits to avoid snoring
Eating slowly can help you lessen the food you intake. It is quite hard to calorie count and fat count everything that we eat these days. Cut on heavy dinners. If it is possible, stay away from food temptations all the time. This is because when you are watching TV, you tend to eat more because you are focused more on the show that the food you are eating. This is because you will think that you have had much to eat when you get a single serving of a full small bowl rather than a bigger one.

Another is to limit or minimize your alcohol intake when it is almost your bedtime. Things that you have to look out to be able to determine if your snoring is already out of the ordinary and is likely to be considered severe stage. This will help your air pathways to open and lets the air pass through with no restrictions.
