It only happens when i have afternoon naps. I hear everything see everything, i can see my eye lids fluttering cause i cant fully open them, but i cant move, speak or scream for the life of me. This has been happening to me for 5 years now. It used to happen w/ hallucinatins where i would see things but now im pretty much use to them and just cant move. However recently iv been having them and im scared again because it feels like im trying to snore, yes snore, but cant or it feels like im snoring loudly . In my sleep im trying to snore loudly so my brother wakes me (im usually on the couch for naps) up but he says im not making a sound. Any expert or some one with experience on this sleep disorder pls give me advice. what can i do?could it be an actual medical problem? Im scared im not breathing and thats why it feels like im snoring but im actually not?
Gee, for 5 years? :\ I used to have it like 2 years ago, without the hallucinations, I just felt like.. stuck in my body, pretty awful experience! What usually did work for me was to think hard about waking up or not get panicked and try to get back to sleep, but the real problem was the stress I had at the time. That’s what I believe caused them in my case.

Sleep apnea, snoring, sleep disorders – how to stop Solution
how do i get it to stop??how..i cant sleep when he does it it just drives me nuts……he has a cold so its making his snoring worse…people say to plug his nose or wake him up and tell him..ive done it all its still driving me nuts cuz he does it all over again……help!!!!its ruining my sleeping with him….
Do he sleep on his back? If so, he is probably worsen the snoring problem as his tongue will slip back into the throat and cause the blockage of airway. Simply by making him sleep on his side can stop the snoring. How to work with sleeping on back, simply sew a socket on his pajamas and stick a tennis ball in it during bedtime. Easy and simple, Right!! Or you can try various kinds of pillows and strap-on devices to help you unsupine.

How dangerous is it to use a CPAP machine without being officially diagnosed with aleep apnea?
I know I have sleep apnea. I snore so loud and I have excessive fatigue to the point that I have to sleep more than 12 hours a day. It also runs in my family. I just got a CPAP machine from someone. How dangerous would it be for me to use it? Educated responses only.
Monica- I asked for educated responses only. I am also in the health profession and that doesn’t mean I know everything about everything. CPAP machines are not by prescription only, otherwise you could not buy them anywhere. And If you aren’t even aware that they are for sleep apnea, I am not quite sure how you managed to become a nurse.
Davisk- pneumothorax is not a “hole in the lungs”. I have studied cardiorespiratory care. I am also well aware that too much O2 can be dangerous. Also, there are no H2O levels on this machine. Are you meaning O2 levels? And finally, it is not gross. Obviously I am not stupid enough to use another person’s mask! lol.
First of all, CPAP is to be used by prescription only! Yeah, you may be able to buy them on the internet or ebay, but thats just gross and extremely dangerous. Secondly, each cpap is to be titrated to your specific needs!!! People can need a pressure on 6cm H2O while others need 14 cm H2O. If a pressure is forced on to you that is to strong then you could end up with a pneumothorax or in layman terms, a hole in your lung! Doesnt sound fun at all, huh?! You need a sleep study and titration to determin what exactly your needs are.
On most home units the home care company or dr office will preset the pressure and each machine has a specific way to be reset that only the home care company or educated person knows how to change!
DO NOT USE ANOTHER PERSONS CPAP. EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT A MEDICATION, IT IS A DR. ORDER!!!!
I snore really loud in any sleep position (with my mouth open). Is it a big deal?
I previously asked this question. Thanks for the responses, but sleeping on my side or stomach doesn’t change things. I’m told I snore really loud in ANY position. Nasal strips and such don’t help because I sleep with my mouth open (I’m told wide). Going to a overnite sleep clinic just isn’t an option. Should I not worry about the snoring?
I’ve noticed that when she sleeps she snores and sometimes her snoring will stop. During the periods that her snoring stops her stomach moves up and the back down really fast, as if you is breathing very hard or struggling. I talked to her about it before so she talked to her doctor. Her doctor told her that if she doesn’t experience tiredness, which she said she doesn’t, then she doesn’t have it, but because of what I observed while she was sleeping I think that she has it. Do you think she has it? If so, what should I do?
This often happens when she is sleeping on her back. When she sleeps on her side this doesn’t really happen.
Sleep apnea literally means no respiration during sleep. This is caused by the obstruction of the airways. Snorers and obese people are prone to this disorder. The patient snores excessively with increasing frequency, gasping for breath and eventually wakes up. This usually occurs several times. As a consequence, she may experience tiredness or lethargy during the daytime due to lack of sleep.
Consulting with a specialist is your best option. Several treatment modalities include special pillows, mouthpieces that prevent airway obstruction during sleep, continuous oxygen delivery devices, or at the extreme, surgical correction.
Snoring can be aggravating, it may be a symptom of something more seriously wrong with your health. The sound and noise of snoring is caused by the vibration of the soft tissues in the throat, and can be annoying not only to the actual snorer but also to their partners who have to deal with the sound of the snoring throughout the night.
There are different kinds of anti snore device products that you can use to try and treat your snoring condition. Before you go ahead and choose any stop snoring device, you should learn about the options that are accessible to you and make an educated decision on which would be appropriate to you.
One of the most popular anti snore device products is the nasal strips. They are used to widen the nasal valve and thus open up the airway to the throat and lungs. This allows the air to be more easily transported through the throat and thus relieves one’s snoring.
The next one is the Chin strap. The advantage of using anti snoring chin straps is that they are very effective, non-invasive and do not cost a lot either. These reasons should be sufficient for a person that is bothered with the snoring bug to go out and purchase an anti snoring chin strap and stop the troublesome habit. It is a device that many medical experts suggest to those that are snorers. It has been found to be effective as well as economical.
Various research studies also developed the dental devices which reduces or eliminates snoring by up to 90%. The beauty of this device is that it can be purchased over the counter. It consists of two small dental trays, which fit over the teeth. The consumer will adapt these trays to his own teeth with an included resilient lining material.
Snoring needs to be controlled and stopped. Otherwise, it could lead to a person having interrupted sleep. It has also been found through research that snoring can be a direct cause of sleep apnea and thus care should be taken to control it totally.
So in summary, choosing the most suitable stop snoring device is really a question of personal preference and affordability. It is also advisable for anyone who is considering devices or treatment for snoring to consult their doctor. They will be able to advise on an individual basis, what they feel may be the most suitable for them to use.
My air matterss loose air after a night sleep why?
I sleep on air mattress that you pump up. I snore allot and my wife cant handle it. I am going through a sleep study until i get my cpap machine. I wake up and its lost air a lil bit. Dose this have to due with car tires and the pressure is lost due to the cold? or is the air destiny issue? If i filled it with nitrogen will it help??
I tried nose strips. Any remedies than going to a MD and buying a breathing loud machine that could also wake others.
I hear there are pills out now i would talk to a Doctor if its that bad they have many treatments laying on your side helps or propped up but it could be a different problem that you are not aware of i found a few sites i hope that they help good luck T
