Does anyone know of any good snoring cures? My dad is like a bear and i want to make him a present ..asap.So if you have any ideas how to get rid of snoring…please share
Research has shown that a whopping one in four people suffer from snoring. If that weren’t amazing enough, most of those afflicted believe there is nothing to be done for their condition. They don’t realize that a good night’s sleep is within their grasp. Some people are giving a new product called Snorezip a try, and are having great results.
Snorezip was developed to increase oxygen flow and reduce mucus. When oxygen flow is increased and mucus reduced, it has been proven that the incidence of snoring will also be greatly reduced, if not eliminated. This product may be just the thing to get those afflicted with snoring on the road to a restful sleep.
Snoring is not just an annoying habit, but can seriously threaten your health. Doctors claim that patients who snore are more likely to be fatigued, and are more susceptible to life threatening conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Snoring also increases the incidence of high blood pressure and metabolic syndrome. Snorezip, with its proven record of reducing incidence of snoring could help reduce this risk.
SnoreZip is very affordable and easy to use. Most snoring remedies involve the use of uncomfortable masks that must be worn at night. The sheer discomfort of these masks is enough to make most sufferers abandon such a program long before there is any benefit. Since SnoreZip is administered as an oral spray, there’s no excuse not to give it a try. Just spray SnoreZip into your mouth before you go to bed, and you could be minutes away from a good night’s sleep!

My husband has been diagonosed with sleep apneao, and subsequently been given a CPAP machine but is having severe difficulty getting used to the mask that really is quite invasive, does anyone have any suggestions as to either how to overcome this claustophobia or is there another alternative, he cannot use the nostral ones as his nose is too narrow at the back. He`s snoring and quality of sleep is so much better when he does use it but he is really struggling at the moment…ps so am I!!!
I recommend that you contact your home care company and ask them what can be done. There may be another design of nasal mask that feels better for him or an accessory that makes the mask more comfortable. My home care experience is limited. What I do know is that patients find out what they like through trial and error. The company carries a variety of masks, each with subtle differences that can make the experience of wearing it more pleasant. Your home care company is there to help him use his equipment. That’s their job. The Respiratory Therapist(s) there have far more knowledge and experience with CPAP than I have. They do it all day, so they are the experts on the subject.
I think of CPAP like hearing aids, head gear, or retainers. They are all uncomfortable in the beginning, but when you wear them for long enough, you get used to it. Has he tried wearing it while watching TV to help him get accustom to it? That might help.
Keep with it! It’s tough for everyone at the start, but most get used to it.
Does anyone have experience dealing with Sleep Apnea?
My boyfriend suffers with a condition called sleep apnea, where he temporarily stops breathing at night. This happens constantly throughout the night, where he will just stop breathing and then after several seconds will take a huge gasp of air, start snoring and then stop breathing again.
I have read that this can be a very dangerous and serious condition and am worried about him. I know there are some recommended devices out there, but does anyone have actual experience with this? I’d love to hear from you if so, and what you have found to be the most helpful. Thanks.
Yes, I have just been diagnosed with this myself and have started with a CPAP machine yesterday. I have setup a site for discussion and will be detailing how I am doing, i would love to hear how you guys are doing as well. Have a look at http://www.disorderforum.com (its brand new, so not much there yet)
ditto the RN’s answer. One treatment for severe snoring and sleep apnea is using a CPAP mask at night. It’s a mask that fits over your nose attacthed with a hose to a machine that creates pressure in your airway, the pressure holds open your airways so they dont collapse and close your airway. The mask is uncomfortable for most people at first but when they begin to get a good night’s sleep they feel so much better they get used to it and use it. Sleep apnea is a dangerous condition that can lead to other problems like heart disease. See your doctor about it.

Is there any effective contraption/spray for snoring problem available OTC in India?
The snoring problem is a nasal one and the solution should be free of any side effects.
these are perfect & drug free: “Breathe Right” nasal strips. (pro football players wear something similar)..They are sticky strips that go across the nose, pulling it apart allowing air in. It’s a miracle product if you ask me.

has she ever had a sleep apnea test? Could be she’s stopping breathing if she snores that loud and that much. Encourage her to talk to her doctor and tell her what you’ve told us. Perhaps you could wear earplugs at night? Good luck.
