prevent snoring device

Has anyone tried the Snoremate jaw positioning device to prevent snoring??
I should have been the one to come up with this idea.
Several years ago my husband was diagnosed with sleep apnea. After going through the sleep studies and surgical treatment, he still continued to snore. I had noticed over time, that when he was relaxed, his lower jaw would drop back, so I told the doctor this and ask if there was any device that could keep his lower jaw extended. He sent us to an orthodontist where we explained the problem and told of him of my suggestion. He made us a device and it worked incredibly.
I would suggest doing this before any surgical treatment or c-pap device. By all means, monitor your breathing closely though because this can be detrimental to your health and life.
If this device does not work for you, please seek medical advice and treatment. If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and have insurance such devices should be covered by your insurance carrier.
I will have to add that we did not use the Snoremate per say but the one the doctor made. The doctors device also had something where he could adjust the bite enabling him to extend his lower jaw even further if needed.
