stop snoring cpap

dose cpap machine stop snoring?
Yes, if the pressure is set correctly.
The CPAP pressure required to keep the airway from collapsing during sleep is normally determined during a sleep study. You would have gone for a sleep study to see if you have Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Then, you either had to go back for another sleep study to get your CPAP pressure adjusted correctly, or you had a split study where the first half was to establish that you have OSA and the second half was to determine what pressure prevented you from obstructing.
Unless there is a change in something, the pressure your machine is set to should work to stop snoring. If you gained or lost a significant amount of weight, had a worsening of your OSA for whatever reason, or something happened to your upper airways (trauma, surgery), you might need to have another sleep study done to check and adjust your CPAP pressure.
