snoring sleeping on back

snoring sleeping on back
Why is it I snore when I sleep on my back, but not when I sleep on my side?

Any ideas to remedy the snoring?

LoL love this question. I am actually a sleep technician, this is what I do for a living. You snore on your back and not ur side b/c your airways are closed a lot more on back. Its called “positional OSA”. OSA is Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Now doesnt mean you have OSA but the way you described it to me sounds like it. Go in to your doctor and tell him, he will schedule a sleep study for you which will show whether you stop breathing at night (OSA) and it will see if your snoring is leading to arousals keeping you from getting into a deep sleep. Alot of DR’s will have you sew Tennis Balls into the back of a shirt and sleep in that shirt at night, this will keep you on ur side. But if youre to bad they will hook u up with a CPAP, breathing machine, this will minimize snoring and OSA, which will make you more refreshed during the day and give you so much more energy. Hope this helped…
