Tonight my husband awoke because he nearly swallowed his tongue while sleeping?
just less than an hour ago, we were sleeping peacefully and he suddenly jumped out of the bed at 3 am and went to toilet cuz he he nearly swallowed his tongue..i was so scared for him. it happened twice before but that was like 2 years ago and he recently told me about it now and it happened again just tonight.. can anyone tell me what exactly this is and whats causing it and the prevention. yes he does snore a lot while sleeping but what would cause him to swallow his own tongue while asleep? 10 points to the best answer.
Well, the good news is that he cannot swallow his tongue because it is attached to his mouth. Nobody has ever swallowed their own tongue. That being said, he may be experiencing acid reflux or even an anxiety attack. If he’s been under a lot of stress lately, one of these is probably the culprit. He should make an appointment to see his doctor. There are medications for both of these problems.
