Does Removal of Adenoids and Tonsils lead to Asthma?

Hi My son is 5 years old and since last 1.5 years, he is suffering from enlarged Adenoids and Tonsils. Because of these, he had frequent Ear infections last winter and until now he snores, eats slowly, not very healthy and has to follow a lot of restrictions on food like no Ice-cremes, no ketchup, no jam etc. That’s too much for a tiny age of his. The ENT specialist had suggested TAR (Tonsil & Adenoids Removal) surgery last year, but we didn’t do it until now since we are scared that if the Guards are removed, his infection which is now just in throat, will shift to Chest. Specifically since we have a family history of ASTHMA, chances are more that he will suffer from it severely after TAR. Does anybody has gone through this situation? Can anybody tell me if TAR doesn’t affect his Asthmatic chances?

The removal of Adenoids and Tonsils is supposed to help alleviate asthma. I’ve had my tonsils removed and never had chest infections. It seems he may benefit in a lot of ways if he has his tonsils out.

And there are other lymph glands that will take over the job of catching viruses, bacteria. You have something like 600 lymph nodes in your body.
